-These PCI-Express extenders
are essential for standard
computer building as well as for intensive gaming and Litecoin,
Bitcoin, Dogecoin mining rigs.
-These High Quality Powered
Riser cards are powered
via a double wired Molex connector.
This helps reduce the power usage
from the motherboard preventing GPU and Motherboard damage when using
multiple high spec GPUs.
-The smoothing solid
capacitor also
increases GPU stability by regulating the voltage.
-The gold
plated contacts provide a better conductivity and a longer product life.
A PCI-Express riser card is
only a serial point-to-point connection between the motherboard and the
card. Compared to a small x1 riser card, a larger x16 riser card has
additional communication lanes in parallel allowing higher speed.
Conveniently, any
size of PCI-Express card (x1, x4, x8, x16) can be plugged in any kind of PCI
Express motherboard slot.
A small card x1 can be
plugged in a x1, x4, x8 and x16 motherboard slot. Obviously, the bandwidth available
will only be x1.
A large
x16 card can also be plugged in a smaller slot (x8, x4, or x1) providing the
slot has an open end to allow the card to be pushed all the way down. Again,
the bandwidth available
will be limited by the number of lanes of the slot.
Note that sometimes a PCI-E slot operates with fewer data
lanes than it is supposed to. For example, a x16 slot may have a data
connection of only x8, in which case a x16 card plugged in will only have an
x8 bandwidth available. Have a look inside the slot to see how many contacts
it actually has.
